Saddle Fitting Terms & Conditions
- The client should ensure that the horse is in a stable/yard, clean and ready to be assessed for the appointment time
- The client brings all equipment usually used/ridden in to the appointment
- A handler for the horse must be present at all times
- Ridden assessments will take place for all appointments unless previously arranged/special circumstances which will be discussed prior to the appointment taking place. A safe area should be available for riding free of hazards and where the rider feels happy to ride.
- The usual rider must be present to allow for a ridden assessment
- Where the usual rider is under 16 years old an adult should be present at all times
- Alterations and adjustments along with additional equipment / gullet bars are charged separately to any agreed mileage and fitting fees
- Alterations/adjustments will be carried out on site if possible, but some alterations/adjustments will require the saddle taking off site, the client will be informed if this is necessary
- Checking a second saddle on the same horse is chargeable
- Fitting fees will not be waived if a saddle is purchased
- Appointments cancelled by the client with less than 24 hours notice will still be charged the assessment fee
- Upon being offered an appointment the slot will be held for 48 hours before being offered elsewhere, unless agreed otherwise
- It is advised that a newly purchased saddle is to be checked within the first 3 months of purchase to monitor the ‘bedding in’ period, this appointment is chargeable
- Bespoke orders require full payment at time of ordering
- Sam Lander Saddles accept payment by cash, card or BACS, we request payment on the date of the appointment
- As per the Society of Master Saddlers Code of Conduct; we request to be informed if another saddle fitter has assessed your saddle within the 6 months previous to our visit. This will be discussed with the client and with the clients permission we reserve the right to contact the previous saddle fitter, in order to avoid any conflict of interest situations.
- The client must inform Sam Lander Saddles of any diseases/contagious illnesses on the yard, any signs of ill health and any contact with infected horses
- Horses can be dangerous and unpredictable, especially with an unfamiliar person. Our fitter accepts no responsibility for any injuries associated with fitting your horse
- We will fit the horse according to its current condition and fitness levels, where there are changes to the horses condition or routine regular fitting appointments and checks will need to be made to accommodate these changes.
- Templates will be taken at each appointment in order to monitor changes to your horse that may affect the fit of the saddle
- Please advise us of any behavioural issues that your horse has prior to the appointment
